Run with BESA in the Sporting Life 10k FREE before April 15!
Run with BESA in the Sporting Life 10K FREE!
Spring is fast approaching – It’s that time of year to dust off your sneakers, and hit the pavement! What better a way to motivate your running habits than running for Charity? The Sporting Life 10k is one of the most accessible events in Toronto. The course is entirely downhill on a closed-off Young Street, providing a unique running atmosphere and view of the city. Furthermore, all proceeds go towards sending children with cancer to Camp OOCH. The run is Sunday, May 11th at 8am.
With the $20 BESA reimbursement, you essentially run for free! Plus, if you raise $100 online for your race, your registration fee will be completely refunded by Sporting Life! When signing up, under Team Options join the team name: UofT – Biomedical Engineering Student Association (BESA). You will be reimbursed by BESA when your name appears on the team roster!

Congratulations to all of the IBBME students who ran as part of the inaugural BESA Sporting Life 10K team! We had 18 IBBME students help send children with cancer to Camp Oochigeas this summer. We were lucky to have one of the most beautiful days (yet) this year summer – the energy was high, and the celebration afterwards was pumping. IBBME students raised almost $1000 for Camp Ooch – well done!

BESA Career Panel #2:
BESA will be holding our second career panel on March 19, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The event will take place at Banting Room 131. This will be a great opportunity to ask questions about potential future jobs and ways to improve your CV/Resume. As well, there will be a light reception with pizza after the career panel.

The Professional Development Team will be hosting their first BESA Career Panel for the new year. The event will be held this Wednesday January 15, 2014 in MSB 2712 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. This will be a great opportunity to ask alumni any questions you may have about your future after graduate studies. As well, this is a great opportunity to network with others and alumni.
There will also be a light reception after the event.
